Boredom has finally set in at our casa and school doesn’t even start for another month! Even though its well over a hundred degrees here we decided to make some chalk paint. The kids were super excited and then painted for about 10 minutes before they were beet red sweaty messes…I’ll have to file this one away for a 20 degree cooler day but they really enjoyed it.
Here’s what you need:
Muffin tin (or if you want something sealable, baby food jars would work great!)
Cornstarch (about 2 tablespoons for each color)
Food Coloring (add less for pastels more for vibrant colors)
Water
Put your cornstarch in your muffin tins, add your food coloring and a wee bit of water to make a paste/slurry. Make sure everything is dissolved. Then take your tin, paint brushes and cup of water outside to add more water. Have fun!
That’s it. Talk about cheap and easy…sorry Crayola.
